How to get Vietnam visa from Polynesia

There are three options for travellers from Polynesia to apply for a visa to Vietnam. Before applying for a Vietnam visa, you should check whether your country is eligible for visa exemption to Vietnam. You can find more details here: Vietnam Visa Exemption

Option 1: You can come to nearest Vietnam Embassy/Consulate in nearest country to apply for a Vietnam Visa.


Required Documents for Obtaining a Vietnam Embassy Visa
  • A completed application form: Downloaded from the embassy’s website where you are applying for the visa, filled out and affixed with your photograph
  • Original passport: It must have a validity of at least 6 months from the planned date of entry. For a loose-leaf visa request, a passport copy is sufficient. Passport must have a minimum of 2 blank pages available.
  • Photo requirement: One passport-sized photo without glasses is required. An additional photo is necessary if you are applying for a loose-leaf visa. For further information, please refer to: Vietnam Visa Photo Requirements
  • Visa fees: Must be money order, or cashier’s check, or company check. Cash is accepted if you send in your application in person. The fee will depend on the type of visa you are applying for.
  • Mail Service: Prepaid self-addressed return envelope is required if you want to have the passport returned by post.
The form and the fee can vary by country, so please check directly the Vietnamese embassy or consulate to which you are applying.

Option 2: Applying for a Vietnam E-Visa


Required documents for getting a Vietnam E-Visa
  • Original passport: It must have a validity of at least 6 months from the planned date of entry. For a loose-leaf visa request, a passport copy is sufficient. Passport must have a minimum of 2 blank pages available.
  • Photo requirement: One passport-sized photo in .jpg format: dimensions 4×6 cm, featuring a white background and without glasses. An additional photo is necessary if you are applying for a loose-leaf visa. For further information, please refer to: Vietnam Visa Photo Requirements
  • A clear, scanned copy in .jpg format of the full data (bio) page of your passport
  • A valid international credit or debit card is required for the payment of the e-visa fee
  • Provide details of your intended entry and exit dates, along with the specific points of entry and exit (refer to the list of applicable ports).
Detailed guide for the e-visa application process:
  1. Complete and submit the Vietnam E-Visa Application Form online
  2. Receive the e-visa letter in your registered email within the specified processing time. Typically, this takes 4-6 working days. For emergency cases, we offer expedited processing within 30 minutes, 1, 2, or 4 working hours from Monday to Friday. Additionally, visa services are available during weekends and non-working days.
  3. Download your e-visa letter and show it to the Vietnam Immigration Officer to complete the entry into Vietnam.

Option 3: Applying for a Vietnam Visa on Arrival


Required documents for getting a Vietnam visa on arrival
  • Original passport: It must have a validity of at least 6 months from the planned date of entry. For a loose-leaf visa request, a passport copy is sufficient. Passport must have a minimum of 2 blank pages available.
  • Photo requirement: You will need to present two passport-sized photos upon your arrival at the airport, and wearing glasses in these photos is not allowed.   • Immigration forms (NA1 – Entry and Exit Form), stamping fees IN CASH to pay at Immigration Counter at Vietnam airport (25 USD for single entry and 50 USD for multiple entries).
Detailed guide for the visa-on-arrival application process:
  1. Complete and submit the Vietnam Application Form online to obtain a pre-approval letter for the visa
  2. Receive the visa letter in 3-5 working days (In emergency situations, expedited processing is available within 30 minutes, 1, 2, or 4 working hours from Monday to Friday. Visa services are also offered during weekends and non-working days)
  3. Prepare all documents, required stamping fee, board the plane to Vietnam and get the visa stamped on passport upon arrival at Vietnam airport.
  Notes:
  • If you plan to arrive by land, you need to obtain a visa beforehand, visa on arrival will not work for land entry.
  • If you travel on a cruise-ship, you can contact the cruise operator for visa procedures.
